Passo Cars in Pakistan

Toyota Motor Corporation released a new and improved version of the "PASSO" compact car on April 12. The compact car was developed under the leadership of Daihatsu Industries, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota in August 2016. Its cruising range per liter of gasoline has been raised to 28 kilometers, which is second to none in Japan's domestic gasoline vehicles. In addition, the price of the best-selling model was also reduced by approximately 40,000 yen from the previous generation. The car has achieved competitiveness beyond light vehicles and strives to expand sales in the growing small car market. (Editor's note: A light vehicle is a type of Japanese automobile. It generally refers to vehicles with a displacement of fewer than 660 ccs and a length, width, height of 3.4 meters, 1.4 meters, and 2.0 meters, respectively).

“The experience of the new type of vehicles is to fully utilize the light vehicle technology, and there is no room for improvement of one millimeter, one gram, and one yen when the conditions are limited”, held on the 11th at the Tokyo branch of Daifat, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. At the technical briefing, Daihatsu's senior executive president emphasized that. As a Toyota car, the reason for holding a technical briefing session in Daihatsu was that the car was led by the company from development to production.

Toyota's "PASSO," which was released in 2004, had been jointly developed by the two companies and was produced by Daihatsu. The new car is headed by Daihatsu's employees, and Daihatsu is responsible for OEM (OEM) and supply for Toyota.

This time, the fuel consumption improvement technology of Daihatsu's "Mira-eS" light truck was utilized, and this car has received much attention as a "third-class eco-car." In terms of procurement, the cost reduction of integrated procurement is very effective. The head of development, Masaki Masaki, said that “the same steering wheel and peripheral switches were used” to promote the common use of parts of light-duty, light-duty vehicles. The standard price was lowered to 1,25,800 yen, which is about 40,000 yen less than before. The cheapest price drop was 100,000 yen less. Strive to increase the monthly average sales from 3,800 units in 2015 to 5,000 units.
Targeting Daihatsu as a Small Car Company

In recent years, Toyota has continued to carry out structural adjustment and reorganization within the entire group. This is because competition in new technology development and changes in the market are becoming increasingly global, and the previous system has been unable to fully function. This time, Toyota will take Daihatsu Industries as a wholly-owned subsidiary, and position itself as a core company for the development and production of compact cars.

One of the goals of the development of Passo under Dafa’s lead was also to fully respond to changes in the domestic market of the light vehicle market. The light-duty trucks have high fuel efficiency, and the selling price, maintenance fees, and low purchase tax have accounted for nearly 40% of new car sales in Japan. Passo's fuel efficiency and price can compete with light vehicles. On the other hand, the interior space of the car is also larger than that of the old model, which increases the competitiveness.

Another purpose of Toyota cars is to expand sales worldwide. The market for low-priced, small-sized vehicles continues to expand in emerging economies. In developed countries with low birthrates, demand is also expected to increase as a convenient and affordable model. However, Toyota alone has limited cost reductions. In the future, whether Toyota cars in Pakistan will strengthen its compact car business depends on how to effectively use Daihatsu.

The Passo cars, which was quite popular in the past, was more masculine in appearance, but the second-generation model was quite sleek. Toyota cars also intend to use the new Passo car to cater to female consumers. Passo's body size is 3650 × 1665 × 1535mm, wheelbase is 2440mm, a total of Passo and Passo + Hana two models, the biggest difference between the two is the front tank cover, Passo + Hana is also equipped with a separate LED floret in the rear door.

In the interior, Passo cars use a brown design with emphasis on texture, thermostatic air conditioning, electric windows, surround sound, doors with the 80-degree opening angle, front and rear seat back, multi-disposal space, and rearview mirror angle. Tilt, SRS airbags, air curtains, etc., are all equipped according to the model level. In addition, Passo has a total of two interior colors and 11 car color combinations.

In terms of power, the Passo cars are available with two engines. The 996cc inline three-cylinder DOHC, codenamed 1KR, uses the VVT-i variable valve mechanism and has a maximum horsepower of 69hp/6000rpm and a maximum torque of 9.4kgm/3600rpm. The 2WD model is used in combination with the CVT transmission system. The average fuel consumption of the 10/15 mode is 22.5km/L, and the JC08 mode is 20.8km/L. The 1329cc inline four-cylinder DOHC, codenamed 1NR-FE, can deliver maximum horsepower of 95hp/6000rpm and maximum torque of 12.3kgm/4000rpm. The same CVT is used. In the transmission system, the average fuel consumption in the 10/15 mode of the 2WD model is 21.0km/L. In addition, the front McPherson rear suspension chassis suspension design not only provides comfort, but also allows a substantial increase in space, and effectively reduce costs
